THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Communication Style

When it comes to feedback or discussing the ins and outs of a project, I’m typically a direct communicator.

If we’re on a call, I’m usually bringing the silly-billy vibes (when appropriate obvs) and trying to hit my personal KPI of being the funniest service provider of all time.

*please do share how best you like to communicate as I do care very much and I know direct comms can be a bit WOAH if that isn’t your vibe.

Location, Location, Location

I work remotely with my wonderful co-workers, two senior staffies called Dexter & Bella.

I am more than happy to join team days or come along to the office to say hey, but my pups need me so I’ll be at my home office 90% of the time.

THINGS YOU MIGHT WANNA KNOW

Um ew. So, if we want to be OFFICIAL. I graduated (BA Hons 2:1) in 2017 after doing 2 years HND at Bedford College and a top-up year with Northampton. I went back to study design when I was 25 because even though I was great at my insurance job, I just knew graphic design was my passion.

UNOFFICIALLY, though? I’ve been here since MySpace Layouts and Glitter graphics were a thing (I’m talking 20 years ago). Chances are, if you’re a millennial, like me, you’ve used something I made to post on your mate’s wall.

I made my first ever HTML email in 2010 while working as a receptionist. Little did I know, 15 years later it would be what my entire business focuses on. I have a background in marketing, web design and graphic design (I like to learn, what can I say) and during my time at Not On The High Street I really got a taste for it.

Emails combine everything I enjoy, from writing to coding to design. I always say they’re like tiny websites and I always treat each one as if it were a mini project.

Fast-forward to 2024, I was made redundant. I had the idea for an email-only studio for a good year before that, but hadn’t acted on it.

Redundancy was the nudge I needed. I interviewed for some incredible CRM design roles before making the decision to launch my own business. 2 years on and I am even more in love with what I do, and I don’t care how cheesy that sounds.

I think if I had to pick it would be Klaviyo or Customer.io. As a designer first, I am obviously quite concerned with aesthetics and the capabilities to make my email design dreams come to life.

About Nicemail

Nicemail® is an email-only creative studio of one, headed up by an actual designer. Helping CRM teams move from overlooked to “omg, I love your emails”.

Through strategic email design and clear systems, I turn reactive campaign chaos into scalable structure. Making emails faster to build, easier to manage, and far less frustrating to execute.

I’m usually brought in when email feels rushed, inconsistent, or hard to maintain. I leave behind a design system, a clear workflow, and a team that actually knows how to use it.

Before: building a day in advance, constantly under pressure.

After: two weeks ahead, with space to think about growth.

I design emails based on how they work not just how they look.

If you want all-image emails or thoughtless campaign creation, Nicemail isn’t for you.

OUR APPROACH

Messy to Modular

Throughout my career, CRM has been the forgotten department. Not as sexy as OOH or social. Quite often, emails are an afterthought. Briefed in at the last minute as an add-on to a social-first campaign.

From brief to send, we look at the whole picture.

Queue the Messy to Modular Method.

•  Workflows that make sense.

•  Design systems built to scale.

•  Cross-team collaboration as standard.

Sound like something your department needs? Book a call and let’s have a chat.
